Breitling Cockpit – The Versatile Aviation Watch

Aside from the Breitling Cockpit, the Windrider also had popular watch models such as the Breitling Chronomat, Breitling Starliner and the Breitling Blackbird. There were several editions of the Breitling Cockpit including a date version, a chronograph version, and a ladies’ version, all of which are now discontinued. In 2015, Breitling unveiled a brand new Cockpit edition as part of their Professional series, called the Cockpit B50.

Popular Breitling Cockpit Models

One of the most popular models within the Breitling Cockpit collection is the date model. Characterized by large double date windows at 3’clock, other design elements of the Breitling Cockpit is the rotating bezel with rider tabs, as well as the dome-shaped crown. On some versions, the dial bears one Roman numeral XII at 12 o’clock along with stick indexes while on other versions the Roman numerals VI, IX, and XII can be found at 6, 9, and 12 o’clock. The Breitling Cockpit watches are powered by the Breitling Caliber 49 automatic mechanical movement with 42 hours of power reserve.

The Cockpit series also included the Breitling Chrono Cockpit models. Likewise equipped with the distinct bezel with rider tabs, the Chrono Cockpit had a different dial configuration. The trio of chronograph registers sit at the 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions while at 3 o’clock is a single date aperture. The Breitling Chrono Cockpit watches are equipped with the famed Breitling Caliber 13 automatic chronograph movement with 42 hours of power reserve. The key to both the Breitling Cockpit and Breitling Chrono Cockpit models is their versatility. Crafted in a wide range of metal options, from steel to gold to a combination of both, the Cockpit watches also boast a number of dial and bracelet options for countless combinations of different configurations.

The Lady Cockpit collection takes a decidedly feminine and refined approach to the aviation inspired watch. Sized at 31mm and often adorned with mother-of-pearl and diamonds, the Lady Cockpit is a beautiful and luxurious sports watch for women. The Breitling Lady Cockpit timepieces are driven by the Breitling Caliber 71 SuperQuartz movement.

Breitling recently introduced the Cockpit B50 multifunction electronic chronograph powered by the SuperQuartz Caliber B50 with an analog and digital display. Sporting a black titanium case and black rubber strap, the Breitling Cockpit B50 is an ultra sleek and modern pilot watch.

Buying Pre-Owned Breitling Cockpit Models

Since the Breitling Cockpit collection is discontinued, pre-owned Breitling Chrono Cockpit models, secondhand Breitling Cockpit watches, and used Lady Cockpit timepieces are exclusive to the secondary market.
